Rock the Stage 2 concert at Fu-Wang Club

The stage at Fu-Wang Bowling Club rocked again on January 22. ‘Rock the Stage 2′ concert was organised by Uchchash Event Management. This event was a follow-up to the ‘Rock the Stage’ concert held at the same venue months earlier.

“There was a killer line-up with Nemesis, Powersurge, Arbovirus, Bohemian and others. Black and Artcell performed on the same stage as well. There were also Bonny Prince, Adamant and Circus Police. Shunno could not perform due to unavoidable circumstances,” said Shams Quader, organiser and member of the band Bohemian.

The opening band was Adamant. Bonny Prince and Circus Police followed. “Although there were rumours that there would be no show, we still rocked out loud,” said Murtaza As Sami of Adamant.

Nemesis was next. The hard rock band blasted the podium with six songs, all original compositions.

“Tumi Ki Shara Dibey” - Black took the stage with this song and followed up with more favourites. “The crowd was awesome,” said Sagor. “It was a well-organised show,” said Jon. “After a break, it feels great to perform,” said Jahan. “We expect many more shows like this. It’s good that the underground scene is very alive,” said Tony. According to members of the band, they are working on their new album, hoping that it will come out by March.

“Auprostut Judhdho”, “Mitther Agrashon” and many more intense songs were rendered by Jamshed, Nahian, Zerif, Samiul and Tonmoy of the band Powersurge.

“Bohemian played five songs,” said Labib. “Two of our own and three covers. We played our original songs ‘Janina’ (unreleased) and ‘Cholo Cholo’ (from the ‘Rock 303′ album). We also played ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Elevation’ (U2) and ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’ (Guns N’ Roses),” he added. Labib, who is also one of the organisers, added that it is like a dream come true. Suharto, Ranjan, Aldnane, Sufi and Shuvo of the band Arbovirus came next. They performed “Abhishap”, “Amanush” and “Corporate”. The crew said that the experience was like “being back to the old circle.”

Last to perform was the band Artcell. Cezanne said “This is our first show after coming back to Dhaka this year. The crowd has been great!” The band is currently working on the DVD of their last concert.

Radio Today and ntv were media partners of the event. The concert was sponsored by Checkers.
