National Rabindra Sangeet Convention in Jessore

The venue of the second day of the 29th National Rabindra Sangeet Convention was Sagordari, the memorial birthplace of great poet Michael Madhushudhan Dutt. On the occasion, thousands of Tagore fans gathered at the Madhu Palli and enjoyed Rabindra Sangeet and dances.
Professor Zillur Rahman Siddiqui, president of Rabindra Sangeet Shammilan Parishad(RSSP); Tagore exponent Dr. Sanjida Khatun; Shohrab Uddin, central general secretary of RSSP spoke before the cultural programme at the Zila Parishad Dak-Bungalow in the morning session.
In the evening, a seminar was held where Professor Ahmad Mostafa Kamal; Professor Asit Baron Ghosh and Professor Matindra Sarkar spoke at the Town Hall grounds. This was followed by a cultural programme participated by artistes across the country.
The three-day 29th National Rabindra Sangeet Convention began in Jessore on Thursday morning amidst festivity. Thousands of people from all walks of life enjoyed the programme.
Around eight stalls were set up at the venue; highlights were copies of artworks by Rabindranath Tagore and books on Freedom Movement.
