Shakib Jakir new Album Review and Music Videos

There are many talented young Bangladeshis that look promising to make it big in the music industry, but most of them lose their way after a couple of big hits. Shakib Jakir, in this respect is very different. Shakib is an extremely talented and promising young musician making in roads into the bangla music scene with his songs such as “EK”. The few people who have had the privilege to listen to these songs, all agree unanimously that Shakib Jakir is a name that we will all be hearing a lot of in the coming days.
According to Shakib, “Music is just a dream of all, thanks to Allah, the most benneficial and merciful for turning my dreams come true. If I can help a shy girl dance, a man with a sheltered mind nudge his head toward something new, i will leave this world having fullfilld my dream.”
His other notable songs are Ghum featuring Tahsan, Eto Shohoshay, Bishshoy and Indrojaal. Most of the lyrics have been written by Saint Akunji. As Shakib Says, “I consider myself lucky enough to have some wonderful friends who put in their countless efforts to make this album finally released. Being in a foreign country, my music was not possible without their help. I would like to thank Tahsan for being my mentor and major support, Adam Frischhertz for producing amazing music with me, Saint Akhunji for his simple but beautiful lyrics, Apu Islam for the stunning music videos, Deepu Ahmed for striking photography and web development, Shahriar Khan for the deep words of “Shunno”, Jason Miller for all the mixing, end of course thanks to my adoring parents, and all my family members, dearest friends from Minnesota and Bangladesh! ”
Shakib is an undergrad student at the University of Minnesota. He is a native of Dhaka who has been studying in the U.S. It is inspiring to see someone like Shakib studying so far away from home, keeping bangla music so close to his heart. We at BanglaMusic.com wish him all the best.
