5th Citycell-Channel i Music Award 2009

Mobile phone operator Citycell, in association with private television Channel i, will announce the 5th Citycell-Channel i Music Award soon for talented singers and musicians. This was said at a press conference held at Channel i�s Tejgaon office on Tuesday.
Impress Telefilm Ltd managing director Faridur Reza Sagar and Citycell head of marketing Anand Rajasingham, among others, spoke on the occasion. Faridur Reza Sagar said they wanted to recognise talented musicians and had been doing the task since 2004. They would continue programme. Pointing out that music was the expression of soul Anand Rajasingham said he was happy with the previous award giving ceremonies where eminent singers like Sabina Yasmin were honoured with lifetime achievement awards.
The organisers told the media the 5th Citycell-Channel i Music Award would be given in 16 categories including lifetime achievements awards. The categories include classical instrument, classical vocal, Tagore song, Nazrul song, motion picture sound track, folk song, band music, lyricist, music direction, budding artiste, cover design, music video and sound engineering.
The organisers also said the listeners could also participate in the selection by sending SMS in four categories - band music, modern song, motion picture sound track and budding artistes.
The selection of the music award is divided into three phases - primary selection, secondary selection and the final selection.
Music albums production houses are requested to submit their music albums released in 2008. The organisers will receive the music albums from November 18 to December 5 at Channel i�s Tejgaon office. Individuals will also be allowed to submit their albums in person.
