Abdul Jabbar performance moves Freedom Fighters

Noted singer Abdul Jabbar, whose spirited songs inspired Freedom Fighters as well as the nation during the Liberation War, once again moved the audience with his remarkable performance recently marking the liberation of Bochagonj from Pakistani occupation.
Bochaganj upazila AL organised the programme at Upazila Pilot High School premises to honour the Freedom fighters of the area.
Md. Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP of Dinajpur-2, was present as chief guest at a discussion prior to the performance.
Other speakers at the discussion were Freedom Fighter Md. Abdur Razzak; Saidur Rahman; Mohidul Islam; Azizul Imam Chowdhury, president of Dinajpur AL and its secretary Farukuzzaman Michele and Abu Sayeed Hossain, general secretary of Upazila AL.
Abdul Jabbar performed his songs that became hugely popular during the Liberation War and the audience could not resist moving to the dhol beats.
The crowd cheered all through the performance and Jabbar got a rousing welcome. The veteran artiste started his performance with “O Amar Bangladesh”. The repertoire kept the audience on their feet. Before each song he gave short descriptions of the war.
As a singer of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, Jabbar’s powerful songs inspired a nation fighting for its freedom. Jabbar also sang “Jai Bangla Banglar Jai”, written and composed by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and Anwar Parvez respectively.
