Ektuku Kotha Shuni organized to pay tribute to Pilkhana Tragedy

Nandan, a cultural platform working for promoting promising sin-gers, organised a musical evening titled ‘Ektuku Kotha Shuni’ at the Ramesh Chandra Dutta Memorial Auditorium of Chhayanaut at Dhanmondi in the city on Saturday. It was the 22nd presentation of Nandan.

It organised the function to pay tribute to the demised persons in recently happened in BDR Headquarters at Pilkhana.

Eights artistes of Nandan rendered 16 songs in the programme. Artistes Anjuman Ferdousi Kakoli, Farhana Yasmin Shaon, Sanchita Hore, Suraiya Mozammel, ABM Mohiuddin, Anupam Kumar Pal, Nilotpal Saddhya, Farzana Rahman Boni, Tanjila Parvin and Arifur Rahman Timun presented songs of ‘Spring’ phase of Rabindranath Tagore.

Titles of the songs were - ‘Aha aji e boshonte, ‘Ami poth bhola ek pothik eshichhi,’ ‘Tumi kichhu diye jao,’ ‘Aji komol mukul,’ Jodi tare nai chini go chini,’ ‘Akash amar bhorlo alloy,’ ‘Amar mollika bone,’ and other numbers were presented in the show.

During the presentation Dr Nurul Anwar gave a speech on Tagore songs. The programme was presented by Mahmudur Rahman Tuhin.

Nandan embarked on its journey in 2003 with the aim to provide a platform for promising artistes in developing their talent. The organisation has been holding musical soirees once every three months, presenting compositions of the five poets (Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, D.L. Roy, Atul Prasad and Rajanikant) songs of yesteryears and more.
