Lalon songs at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium

Bangladesh Loko Sangeet Parishad (BLSP) held a programme featuring Lalon songs at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library, Shabagh on October 17. The event was organised on the occasion of Lalon’s 119th death anniversary.

Artistes of BLSP performed a number of Lalon songs at the programme. Among others, Nasreen Ferdaus Chaman, Faridul Haq, Chanchala Das Sathi, Mafizur Rahman Birohi, Tamanna Nigar Tuli, Bimol Krishna Mridha, Zahirul Haq Tapon, Tabassum Ria, Abdul Aziz, Rana, Shamima Sultana Rita, Anima Mukti Gomez, Shishir Adhikari, Selina Alam, Tauhid Sarker, Sheikh Hemayet and Indra Mohon Rajbongshi performed songs of Lalon Shai.

The programme started with a chorus: “Dhonya dhonya boli tarey”. Solo renditions of “Barir pashey aarshinagar,” “Tin pagoley holo mela,” “Boli ma tor charan dhorey,” “Pabey samanye ki taar dekha,” “Jaat gelo jaat gelo boley,” “Esho Doyal paar koro,” “Jar jonno hoyechhi,” “Shob lokey koy Lalon ki jaat,” “Ma-ere bhojiley hoy taar,” “Ki bhai Nimai tor ontorey,” “Amar ghar khanay ke biraj korey,” “Manush guru nishtha jaar” and more followed.

Guest artistes at the programme, Dil Afroz Reba and Dipti Rajbongshi rendered songs and explained their backgrounds.

Tauhid Sarker on dotara, Kamol Malo and Alokesh Adhikari on tabla and Santosh Sarker on flute accompanied the singers.

Prior to the renditions, secretary of the organisation Nasreen Ferdaus Chaman and founder of the organisation Indra Mohon Rajbongshi delivered welcome speeches at the programme.
