LRB, Arjun Khyapa, Alka Yagnik and Kumar Shanu to Rock London

Leading band LRB is set to perform at a three-day colourful cultural function to begin in London on March 19 at Alexandra Palace of North London. Ayub Bachchu along with Swapan, Masud and Rome will perform on the concluding day of the festival.

Renowned singers, actors, dancers and magicians from both the Bengals will perform in the festival organised by the Bangladeshi community living in London.

The programmes on the opening day will include a play titled ‘Tritiyo Onko Otoeb’ to be staged by veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee and his troupe, music renditions by Babul Supriya and a dance performance by Dona Ganguly, wife of Saurav Ganguly.

Anjan Dutt’s musical drama ‘Bhalobashar Nandini’, Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan’s dance drama ‘Rabi O Radha’ and music renditions by Usha Uthup, Arati Mukherjee and magic
performance by PC Sarkar on the second day of the festival.

Apart from the LRB’s performance, the programmes on the concluding day will include baul song by Arjun Khyapa and his troupe and duets by Alka Yagnik and Kumar Shanu.

Formed in 1991, LRB first performed in the USA outside Bangladesh being the first Bangladeshi rock band which performed in the Madison Square of New York city. They have also toured Europe in 2002 rendering performances in Germany, Austria and England.
