Movie on Tagore Songs “Bhuban Bhora Sur”

The premiere of a documentary film titled ‘Bhuban Bhora Sur’ (Melodies of the Soul) on Professor Anisur Rahman’s thinking and interpretation of rendering Tagore songs was held at the Shaukat Osman Auditorium of the Central Public Library on Tuesday, March 3rd 2009.
Eminent personalities from the socio-cultural arena, including Syed Shamsul Haq, educationist Borhanuddin Khan Jahangir, Professor Khan Sarwar Murshid, human rights activist Sultana Kamal and filmmaker Manzare Hasin Murad, among others attended the show.
At an open discussion after the screening Syed Haq said, ‘I would like to describe the documentary as an essay on film. The imagery with Anisur Rahman’s rendition is remarkable’. Educationist Borhanuddin Khan Jahangir thanked the director Shabnam Ferdousi and the producers –– Meghna Guhathakurta and Shipra Bose –– for their effort in presenting the introvert through the film.
