Subir Nandi and Jhuma performed songs from 60’s and 70 Bengali movies

As a part of the regular arrangements of the presentation of Bengali songs and also to promote the singers Bengal Foundation organised a musical soiree titled ‘Praner Khela’ at the Bengal Shilpalaya at Dhanmondi in the city Saturday evening.
Noted singer Subir Nandi along with the promising singer Jhuma Khondaker rendered Bengali movies’ popular number of songs of the 60’s and 70’s, which the time is called the golden age of Bengali films, at the musical presentation.
Director General of Bengal Foundation Luva Nahid Chowdhury introduced Jhuma at the beginning of the show. She rendered some popular numbers including ‘Eki sonar aloy bhoriye dile,’ ‘Gaan hoye ele, mon jeno bole,’ ‘Shudhu gaan geye porichoy,’ ‘Sagorer teer-e lekha ei gaan’ and others.
Then Subir came to the stage and rendered his popular numbers including ‘Din jai kotha thake,’ ‘Bondhu hote cheye tomar,’ ‘Tumi emon-e,’ ‘Hazar moner kachhe proshno rekhe,’ ‘Koto je tomake beshechhi valo,’ ‘Tumi nei sanjer alor tulona’ one after another. A huge number of music lovers gathered at the musical presentation and enjoyed the songs of Bengali movies of the 60’s and 70’s.
