Surer Dhara to celebrate Chaitra Sangkranti

Leading Tagore song teaching institution, the Surer Dhara will celebrate Chaitra Sangkranti, the last day of the Bangla calendar on April 13 in the city.
The programme will include songs, dances, recitations and stage plays on the day, said the organisers at a press briefing on Saturday.
The programme will be held at the Lalmatia Girls High School premises at 6:30pm in Lalmatia. Country’s leading dance artistes Minu Haque, Munmun Ahmed, Tamanna Rahman, Kabirul Islam Ratan, Tahrina Islam Jhuni and Amy Rahman will present dance sequences to mark the occasion.
Surer Dhara principal and chairperson the noted Tagore singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya was present at the briefing.
Speaking at the briefing Bannya said, ‘We regularly organise cultural programme to let our younger generations know about our culture and heritage that we have been practising generations after generations.’
According to the organisers, the programme will include songs of spring, Tagore and Nazrul songs, patriotic songs, folksongs and songs related to monsoon and marriage.
The organisers told the media persons the programme is open to all.
Bannya also requested people to participate in the programme and uphold the country’s cultural heritage.
