Blending the essence of Bangla classics, folk and modern music, Agami Kaler Surjya promises a variety of musical patterns and lyric for the audience. This is the maiden album of Gaan er Dal Trimatra – an acoustic based fusion band that released its album recently in the market.
And the use of the dhol, flute, mandira, aktaar and other traditional Bangladeshi musical instruments has made the album even more enchanting.
There are nine tracks in the album Brishtir dhoroni, Agami kaler surjya, Shapanamela, Ditam ditam, Ichchakrito bhule, Jhumur ghungur, Sporsho, Subidhabadhi and Abujh barabari.
Seven of the nine tracks were composed by Chandan. He has also rendered six songs among them, with a duet performance in one of them with Sumi, another vocalist of the band. Russel is the lyricist of two songs, while, Sumi, Tareq and Palash rendered the remaining songs in the album.
Most of the songs are based on love, nature and human relations among others and some of them are about sanguinity. The song titled ‘Abujh barabari’ is all about a committed wait for someone special while the title song Agami kaler surjya also provides for a worthwhile experience for the listeners as the singer has sung the song capturing the essence of the lyric. Brishtir darani is another piece which has become a regular feature on the FM stations of the city and has already earned applaud from listeners.
The current band line up includes Chandan, on vocal and keyboard, Palash on vocal, dhol and flute, Sumi on vocal, aktaar and harmonium, Tareq on vocal and Bangla dhol, Rajan on tabla, Sagor on pad and Jony on mandira. Production house Agniveena released the album.
