“Dorja Khola Bari,” the latest solo album by Hassan Abidur Reja Jewel, was launch yesterday. The album comes after a long break of nearly three and a half years. His previous album “Phirti Pathey” was released in 2005; Bappa Majumder did the music composition.
“I’ve been away from music for a while but I have tried to produce my best sound in this album,” says Jewel.
“Ayub Bachchu has done a wonderful job with music direction, I’m optimistic that this album will meet the expectations of the listeners,” said the artiste.
The album contains ten songs, of them, two — “Janina keno” and “Public library” — are written by Ayub Bachchu. Other songs in the album are — “Antardhaney,” “Elomelo,” “9/F, Free School Street,” “Dorja khola bari,” “Ananya”, “Dubshatar,” “Bhalobashi” and “Shonar Deho.”
“Music is something which comes straight from my heart. It’s been extremely difficult to make time for this album but I gave it my all. Without music, my life would be incomplete,” says Jewel.
“Dorja Khola Bari” is the ninth solo album of Jewel. Previous solo albums by the singer are — “Ek Bikeley,” “Amar Achhey Andhokar,” “Ekta Manush,” “Dekha Hobey Na,” “Beshi Kichhu Noy,” “Bedonar Baluchorey” and his debut album “Kuasha Prohor” (released in 1990). Of these, noted singer and composer Ayub Bachchu composed the music for five. Bappa Majumdar and the late Pranab Ghosh did compositions for two.
About future plans, Jewel says, “My professional life allows me very little time for music, but I’m determined to continue my journey in the musical arena.”
Jewel is currently working as the chief of productions and events, Channel i.
