Jagoroner Gaan - A compilation of inspirational songs

“Jagoroner Gaan”, a selection of 71 timeless Bengali compositions, recorded all over again for a new generation of audience that will serve as a reminder of the spirit of struggle, freedom and nationalism.

Music, poetry and other forms of art have directly or indirectly played an integral role in the major movements throughout the history of the nation. Music is an integral part of our national identity. In every step of our national movements, patriotic songs have inspired the masses.

A press conference was held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on the occasion of the album launch. Among others, Ahmed Abu Doma, chief executive officer, Banglalink; Mostafa Zahid Khan, general secretary, Jagoran Sanskriti and Gobeshona Kendra; M Saleh Badal, director, Step Media; Motiur Rahman, editor of Prothom Alo; Faridur Reza Sagor, managing director, Impress Telefilm Ltd. and Sanaullah Lablu, chief news editor, ABC Radio were present at the press conference.

Jagoran Sanskriti and Gobeshona Kendra have painstakingly taken the initiative to catalogue and preserve hundreds of songs that have inspired the Bengali speaking people throughout history. “Jagoroner Gaan”, a compilation of six compact disks, features a selection of 71 timeless Bengali compositions that have stood the test of time.

Additionally, a daylong cultural event by Jagoran Sanskriti and Gobeshona Kendra will be held on December 12 at Shikha Chironton, Suhrawardy Udyan to mark the launch of the albums. Banglalink is the sponsor of the Jagoroner Gaan project. Prothom Alo, Channel i and ABC Radio are media partners. Step Media - an event management firm - is engaged in the overall management of the project.

As one of the leading telecom operators in the country, Banglalink demonstrates its social commitment through promoting the culture and heritage of Bangladesh. “Jagoroner Gaan” is a reflection of this commitment.

The project also includes two caravans travelling around the country and promoting “Jagoroner Gaan” for the next two months.
