Recitation album Brishti Chinhito Valobasha by Kazi Arif
A duet recitation album titled ‘Brishti Chinhito Valobasha’ of the country’s one of the pioneer recitation artistes Kazi Arif and promising recitation artiste Dima Nefartity has been released under the banner of G-Series at a function at the Liberation War Museum at Segunbagicha in the city recently.
Noted litterateur and writer Syed Shamsul Haque and poet Nirmalendu Goon unveiled the cover of the album. Main theme of the album is traditional love and patriotism. Both the artistes recited poems of Rabindranath Tagore, Buddhadev Basu, Jibonanonda Das, Shaheed Kadri, Abul Hasan, Shamsur Rahman, Nirmalendu Goon, Syed Shamsul Haque, Joy Goswami, Sunil Gongopaddhya, Mahadev Saha, Sajjad Sharif, Tokon Thakur, Aditya Nazrul, Kamal Chowdhury and Anindita Islam, which took place in the album.
Kazi Arif is one of the pioneers of the art of recitation in Bangladesh. Like many famous celebrities, he wanted to be a singer though. However, Arif became used to listening to recitation on Akashvani, Kolkata, and the gramophone records. Eminent reciters like Kazi Shabyashachi, Birendra Krishna Bhadra, Nirmal Kumar and Shambhu Mitra fascinated him immensely.
